Brand/Own Name Stamp Tutorial - FREE

This is my first post here, and to celebrate it I created a tutorial that I am sure will be useful for many artists.
Please, send me a message if you have any question.   Enjoy!

·      Scrap polymer clay (any color or brand).
·      Liquid clay (I used Kato Polyclay).
·      Polymer clay canes and/or any color for decoration
·      Credit Card

·      Pasta Machine or acrylic roller
·     Tissue Blade
·     Clay shaper (sculpting tool, knitting     needle for example)
·     Convectional Oven

     1. Roll out a sheet of clay on the thickest setting of your pasta machine or with your acrylic  roller;
      2. Place the business card, face UP;
      3. Spread a small portion of baby powder on the sheet of clay, positioned it on the card’s name, and press firmly;

  4. Burnish sufficiently to transfer the letters' details;
   5. Do not move the clay or will blur the impression. Roll firmly once, and try to use the same pressure;

  6. Check the result.
   7. If you’re happy with the way it looks, trim the excess clay away with tissue blade;
   8. You will have a reversed image (mirror image);
   9. You can separate the words. Arrange the words vertically, or live all in one line;
  10. Bake it for 20 min at 220F;

    11. Roll out another piece of scrap clay;
    12. Glue the baked piece with your name on this scrap clay;
    13. Trim around, and bake for 15min (220F);

     14. For the handle you can make different shapes:
•    Drop – make a large oval shape with scrap clay, cut the bottom, and pull the top a bit to form a point.
•    Hourglass – Make a rectangle with scrap clay, and squeeze in the middle of this on the 4 sides. Flat the top and bottom.
•    Roof – Make a thick snake with scrap clay, and press the sides, designing a triangle shape.

After you decided which shape you want and make it, attach the unbaked handle into the baked piece of stamp gluing with a spread dot of Liquid Clay.
       15. Bake again for 20min, and allow cooling.

 After it is all baked and cooled, lets use it!
  Your stamp is now ready to use!
  I suggest you wet the stamp or use baby powder to prevent clay sticking.

Decorate your custom stamp using slices of polymer clay canes or your favorite color of clay.
   Use your imagination. Use texture, gradient color, roses, and so on.
   On this picture some of my canes.
They are available on my Etsy store
